The dirty dogs are back to help Wahl and Petfinder Foundation raise awareness on the issues of pet adoption and proper grooming. We’ve brought Wahl and Petfinder together again to help 10,000 dogs get cleaned up and ready for adoption during October, National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Shelters around the country will receive a shampoo grant of Wahl’s All-Natural shampoo. The initiative not only uses Wahl’s pet shampoos to get dogs looking adoption-ready, but also puts the shampoo into the hands of anyone who adopts a dog at one of these shelters.
The Dirty Dogs photo contest connects with consumers on social media. Pet owners can enter a photo of their dirty dog on the Wahl Home Facebook page for the chance to win a $5,000 grant for their local pet shelter plus grooming supplies from Wahl. Contest entrants also receive a sample of Wahl’s All-Natural Pet shampoo to use for their new dog.
With the Dirty Dogs initiative, we’ve connected two industry leaders to help provide grooming supplies to shelters, while encouraging pet owners to get involved. Last year we saw huge growth in Wahl’s social community and to build on that success we’ve developed a number of shareable assets, including a video and graphics. We also integrated media into the campaign Facebook and banner advertising driving our target audience to the campaign. These tools make it easier to spread the word about Wahl’s search for America’s dirtiest dog and engage more passionate people in Wahl’s growing community.
