Natural dog shampoos are the latest addition to the Wahl line of pet grooming products. As part of regular home grooming, these shampoos help dogs look and feel their best. So HY Connect created playful digital banners and a print ad that shows how a shiny coat can boost a dog’s confidence. And, while any dog owner can attest to the importance of a clean pet, bathing is even more important for dogs that haven’t yet found a home. To give shelter dogs a fresh start, Wahl partnered with the Petfinder Foundation, a nonprofit that supports pet adoption and shelter care. During the “Dirty Dogs Contest,” fans shared photos of muddy pups on social media for the chance to win a year’s worth of Wahl pet grooming products and $5,000 for their shelter of choice.
The “Dirty Dogs Contest” generated millions of social impressions, with fans submitting hundreds of photos and thousands of votes. Paid media combined with social efforts to create a fully integrated campaign that drove sales for natural dog shampoo. All told, Wahl Home gained 20,000 new Facebook fans and provided thousands of shelter dogs with the grooming products necessary to help them find new homes.
