change the play

Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health is the only nationally ranked children’s hospital in the state. But to expand its patient base, Riley at IU Health needed to overcome perceptions that it treated only the sickest children. The introduction of Riley Physicians brought pediatrics and family medicine together, shifting the focus from specialty care to everyday care. To reinforce Riley at IU Health as a proactive community partner, HY Connect created “Change the Play.” During this interactive eight-week experience, NFL Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck led kids through challenges to build lifelong healthy habits.

The Results:

The statewide expansion of Riley Physicians and the “Change the Play” initiative are drawing new patients ahead of market growth. Beyond Indiana, Riley at IU Health earned national attention for a “Change the Play” AP kickoff story. The “Change the Play” website received nearly 9,500 unique visits and over 30,000 page views from families checking regularly for healthy activities and recipes.
