HY Connect Chosen as Finalist in Advocacy Category for PR Daily’s Media Relations Awards

In 2013, the Wahl Clipper Corporation launched a line of all-natural pet shampoo. Since then, HY Connect and Wahl have helped animal shelters clean up their act by partnering with industry leaders in pet advocacy and providing much needed grooming supplies.

Now, we are proud to announce that we have been nominated as a finalist for PR Daily’s Media Relations Award in the category of Best Issue/Cause Advocacy Campaign.

How did we do such a doggone good job? After Wahl sent more than 1,000 bottles of pet shampoo to shelters nationwide, hundreds of pet transformation photos were entered into the Dirty Dogs Before & After Gallery. The Gallery created sharable photos of adoptable dogs complete with their names, stories and shelter contact information.

Together, Wahl and greatergood.org launched the third annual Dirty Dogs Contest to promote the gallery and makeovers. The 25 best makeovers from the gallery were selected by a celebrity dog groomer and award-winning photographer Seth Casteel. The online community then cast their vote for their favorite transformation. Three winners and each animal shelter or rescue group affiliated with the winning makeovers received cash grants. In total, Wahl awarded $8,000.

The campaign has previously received accolades from the Golden Trumpet Awards and The Agency Post.
