For thirty days in the month of Movember HY Connect grew a crop of good looking mustaches in honor of the Movember fundraising efforts.
Along with our client Wahl, a supporter of the Movember movement since 2009, we pulled out all of the stops for a successful month of fundraising to raise awareness and support men’s health.
In Chicago and Milwaukee the Mo Bros and Sistas turned out to participate in the HYC Movember Team. We provided on-site grooming with Wahl tools for the guys to keep their mustaches smart and neat. We held contests and activities throughout the month such as a game of “Pin the Mo on the Bro” where we teamed Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, created a photo booth to document the Mo growing journey, engaged supporters with social media, and the team raised $600. Production Artist Brian Ortega from the Chicago office led the team with an impressive fundraising effort.
Movember had its most successful effort this year with more than one million Movember participants (1,124,765, to be exact) globally, and they raised an impressive total of $117,810,408.
A Mo in Times Square – as a sponsor Wahl did much more than help mustaches become walking and talking billboards for men’s health. A Movember branded ad glowed on the Times Square Geoffrey Tron all month and was viewed by millions of people every day.
Radio Mo – To help boost awareness in the key markets of Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, Wahl worked with ESPN radio to develop radio ads, on-air mentions and contests, all surrounding Movember.
A Limited Edition Movember Trimmer – Wahl created limited edition Movember facial hair trimmers for select Mo prize packages.
Face the Day Tour – This fall Wahl embarked on their annual cross-country tour, parking a 30-foot mobile barbershop at some of the nation’s most notable events. A team of master barbers gave free facial hair trims and grooming advice. For every trim given on the tour, Wahl donated $1 to Movember.
